The Botanical Gardens of Nevis - I make it a point to visit these lovely gardens every time I go to Nevis, not only for the beautiful floral displays and water features, but also for the great gift shop. They obviously carry garden related gifts, but they also have loads of Nevis and Caribbean arts and crafts gifts that you won't find anywhere else on Nevis. Now you might think that in a specialty upscale spot such as the Botanical Gardens that their prices would be outrageous....but the prices are really quite reasonable...and that comes form a cheap bastards point of view! I also visit the gardens every trip, because the garden is constantly changing and maturing. It is always a pleasant afternoon, especially when you have lunch at their wonderful restaurant. Getting to the botanical gardens can be a bit tricky, so unless you know the island, I suggest you hire a taxi . If you do go on your own, make sure you have a jeep....the roads are a bit rough, though I hear that work is sin progress to improve that. So stop and smell the roses, and many other flowers. |
