Ah yes the good old days! This was back in the late 1990's before the new Nevis Airport opened. No crazy metal detectors, waiting in line for no reason, and there were always cheap flights between St. Kitts and Nevis. Nevis Express flew about 8 - 10 inter-island flights a day for about US $ 25.00 one way I believe. It was on time, fast, and cheap. Now you have to fly via Antigua to go the two miles across to St. Kitts.
I used to sit outside on picnic benches at Aunt Millie's chicken and rum shack, and wait for Omel to stick her head out the window to tell me "com get you self on your plane bwoy, yah nah wan
to miss de plane"! Now you have to sit in an air conditioned monstrosity of an airport watching CNN crap blaring out of the TVs. The last thing I want to do is see American news while on holiday...hell that is why
I came to Nevis...to get away from CNN and all dem kind of ting. Stewwwppps! Oh well, they call this progress....pardon me while I wretch. |
