Well how do
I describe the Bambooshay? I guess I would consider it what is locally known as a snackette. What is a snackette you ask? Well the best way I can describe it would be as a cross between a convenience
store and a bar and grill. In a snackette you can buy diapers, bug spray, shampoo and even a single rolling paper, while picking up some fresh baked bread and baked chicken with a beer to go.
The Bambooshay is one of my favorite snackettes on Nevis. This is the place to go if you are going on a picnic, horseback riding, or just to
sit on the beach. For just a few dollars you can pick up some baked chicken, cheese, fresh baked bread, cool drinks and even a little something sweet for your afters. This place is a bargain and everything I
have ever had here is very tasty, I am particularly fond of the ham and cheese sandwiches here. Don't let the appearance deceive you, this place is a gem. One of the little known secrets
about the Bambooshay is the fresh cakes and breakfast fruit breads that Arlene bakes fresh daily. They are as fine as any I have had in the bistros in St. Barth............and at a fraction of the cost! If
you miss this place while visiting Nevis you have done yourself a disservice. Don't be a typical tourist, stop and treat your self to a slice of Nevis and cake. |
